"We felt many of the teams could do with some help which is why we have enlisted the services of six ex-professional footballers who will be taking on the role of managers throughout the day."

Stars such as Mark Walters, Lee Hendrie, Michael Thomas, John Gregory, George Berry and Steve Bull will be acting as managers to the teams on the day sharing their expertise and urging the footballing ‘talent’ assembled on to glory.

The Financial Services Cup, sponsored by Positive Lending and Precise Mortgages, is taking place on Wednesday 6th July at the Goals football centre in Perry Barr near Birmingham.

30 teams will compete for the Financial Services Cup, with money raised going to the children’s charity, WellChild. On top of this both winners and runners-up will be awarded a cash prize to be donated to the charity of their choice.

James Prosser, Managing Director of Front Events, commented: “With the entire country, perhaps with the exception of Scotland, currently glued to Euro 2016 the financial services industry’s finest footballing talent will also be showing their ability (or lack of it) at the inaugural Financial Services Cup next month. Without wishing to denigrate the skills of those involved, we felt many of the teams could do with some help which is why we have enlisted the services of six ex-professional footballers who will be taking on the role of managers throughout the day.

“30 teams will battle it out on the day with all money going to the WellChild charity, which helps sick children, and the top two teams will also receive a cash prize to give to their own chosen charity. It promises to be an incredibly worthwhile and enjoyable day where the industry can come together to kick each other, settle some old scores and hopefully bag a few goals. Our FS Cup overall sponsors are Positive Lending and Precise Mortgages and we would like to thank them for their support and wish all the teams taking part next month, the best of luck. Having seen some of the line-ups, we think they’re going to need it.”
