Paul Bates, a partner of BDO in Leeds, has become the 500th person currently authorised by and holding an IPA licence.
Commenting, Carl Faulds, President of the IPA said:
“I am very pleased to announce that we have granted our 500th insolvency practitioner licence to Paul. This is a significant step in the growth of the IPA and brings further recognition of our standing in the insolvency profession.
“This year we have also seen a record number of candidates sitting the professional Joint Insolvency Examinations through the IPA, and entrants for our own intermediate Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency have also reached a record high, with growth in the last year alone of some 17%.
"This augurs well both for the future of the profession and growth of the IPA as a significant professional body in the field of insolvency in the UK. We are proud to see this tangible evidence of the IPA increasingly being regarded by many as the examiner and regulator of choice in insolvency.”
