Green’s departure from Barclays was announced in May this year as part of an internal restructure of its senior management team, two months after managing director for intermediaries David Finlay left the lender in March.

Her appointment will coincide with The Mortgage and Protection Event, held by Mortgage Solutions, where she will deliver the lender's specialist mortgage presentation to the Manchester audience.

Investec sold off Kensington Mortgages to investment firms Blackstone and TPG in a deal worth £180m in September, with former Barclays chief operating officer Ian Henderson taking on the chief executive role.

Green will now head up the lender’s sales division, beginning her role on 17 November.

Alex Hammond, head of marketing communications at Kensington, said:

"2014 has been a strong year for Kensington. Amidst the sale talk we have delivered some genuinely interesting developments to brokers. These include our pledge of a day one underwriter call on every application, our mobile app and our proposition for self-employed borrowers, which has proven to be a benchmark for many of our competitors.

"And this growth story will continue in 2015 as we provide more products and greater opportunity for brokers to meet the needs of their clients with specialist circumstances. Sarah is joining us to help deliver those opportunities to even more brokers. We welcome her to the team and look forward to working alongside her to grow our business.

“2015 promises to be a big year for Kensington, as we celebrate our 20th year of specialist lending, look to develop our business and grow our volumes under new parents.

“We all look forward to working alongside Sarah to build upon the strong foundations we have put in place this year and realise our goal of making Kensington the first choice specialist lender for every broker in the country.”
