Prestige specialise in providing cover for non-standard home risks, including properties with flat roofs, unusual construction or subsidence risks, and also to proposers who have previous convictions or a poor claims history.

This partnership will allow the utilisation of both firms’ focused teams to encourage growth in the non-standard space and capitalise upon each other’s strengths, through established distribution channels. As such, there should be no noticeable difference or disruption for brokers during the process, only added knowledge and experience for them to capitalise upon.

Kevin Roberts, Broker & Affinity Director at Legal & General, said: “At Legal & General we are determined to expand our position in the home market and are delighted to have entered into this partnership with Prestige. They were the obvious choice for us to deliver on that ambition given their great reputation and I am excited to work together and utilize the many strengths that we  both possess.”

Trevor Shaw, CEO of Prestige Underwriting Services Limited, said: “We have an extremely focused team of people with established distribution channels and I see this as a huge opportunity to leverage our expertise and capitalise upon the market opportunities that a partnership with Legal & General will bring. To be associated with their brand is fantastic and the experience that they can provide will only further our current position in the market and work to encourage growth in the ‘non-standard’ space.”
