Over the years it's fair to say that lenders/providers and their advisory colleagues have not always seen eye to eye. I can remember the days, particularly in the mortgage market, where both sides appeared not just to be at loggerheads but close to all-out 'war'. To say there was a disconnect between the two would be something of an understatement, and it appeared that (at various times) both felt they could live without the other - although how this could ever have been seen as feasible is beyond me.
