Orbiter users are now able to select the region of the country that they are working in when checking out best buys for their clients.

Wayne Smethurst, managing director of Orbiter, explained:

“Orbiter’s aim is to be genuinely whole-of-market, covering all mortgage products (including direct-only products) as well as all lenders.

"As a result, intermediaries working in England often have to work their way through best buy lists including products from lenders who only lend in Scotland, say, or in Northern Ireland. Similar, a Scottish intermediary can be presented with products from lenders who don’t lend in Scotland.

“With the upgrade we’ve now made, an Orbiter user can specify a ‘best buy location’ when researching products for their clients so that products from lenders who don’t lend in their region are screened out. It makes product searches much more appropriate and is all part of our programme of continuous improvement.”

Mitchell Mann of MM_Mortgages in Colchester has trialled the new functionality and likes what he sees.

He said:

“It’s so much better being able to restrict the best buys to an area that is more relevant to me geographically.”

Ian Forsyth of Complete Mortgage Centre in County Tyrone agrees:

“Identifying the appropriate products has often been a problem in Northern Ireland – until now. It’s great to see a sourcing system really making it easy for us.”
