The announcement was made at the AOBP Annual General Meeting on October 24th at the Westbury Hotel in Central London, which saw around 150 of the industry’s finest gathered to celebrate the Association’s progress over the last 12 months.

The Executive Committee now stands at 13 members and is comprised of specialist loan distributors, a legal specialist and a compliance expert.

AOBP Chairman Rob Jupp commented on the appointments:

“To have landed one superstar of the specialist world is a coup, but to have landed two is absolutely outstanding. Malcolm and Julian will add some fantastic qualities to what is an exceptionally strong Executive Committee and we are privileged to have them on board.”

Both Julian and Malcolm have in excess of 20 years’ experience in financial services, are well-regarded in the industry and bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the panel.

Julian stated:

“I am delighted to accept the appointment as a member of the AOBP board and I look forward to working closely with Rob and his team. We have always had the highest regard for Mr Jupp and having worked closely with the Brightstar team for the last few years, I know that the AOBP will benefit hugely from his dynamism and outstanding commitment. I am excited to be able to add my experience to the high calibre team and look forward to what should be a memorable year.”

Malcolm said:

“I am delighted to have been invited to join the Executive Committee. Bridging finance has a huge presence in the marketplace and we need to ensure it is promoted with complete transparency and integrity. I look forward to working with the other members of the Committee over the coming months.”

Sidney Cohen, founding Chairman of the AOBP, was honoured at the AGM as it was also announced that he has now stepped down from his role on the Executive Committee.

On the day, Rob Jupp spoke on behalf of the Committee:

“It is great to be able to mark Sidney's commitment to the AOBP since its inception. Sidney’s participation in what the Association is today cannot be underestimated and I thank him for that.”
