Leaders managing director, Paul Weller, says:

“As one of the most established and knowledgeable lettings specialists in the UK, we have a responsibility to keep landlords and tenants up to date so that they can benefit as much as possible from the rental market.

“As part of this, we run free informative seminars across each of our regions every year, and now our new e-magazine gives us an opportunity each month to provide important, up-to-date information about the market as well as what is happening within Leaders and the wider industry.”

The first issue of ‘Your Home’ reports on how a dramatic slowdown in the sales market over the last few months has led to a buoyant lettings market. Many people are choosing to rent instead of buying and rental demand is spiralling. This has led to demand outstripping supply and rents increasing in many areas.

Says Weller:

“With demand as strong as it is, we are seeing renewed interest from prospective landlords for investing in property, and from existing landlords looking to increase their portfolios. We are also seeing many would-be vendors who are unable to sell their properties opting to let them out instead, particularly now as the sales market has virtually ground to a halt in the run-up to Christmas.

“With January being one of the busiest times for letting, we strongly advise anyone thinking about letting their property to start the process now. They will need to ensure that their property is ready and available over the next few weeks in order to capitalise on the peak in demand that we always see in the New Year.”
