Planning for our own Anniversary

Well, it’s Friday again, so time for a brief update on what the NACFB has been up to over the past week.

We have been busy mailing out the details of the NACFB’s 20th anniversary AGM and Gala Dinner being held at the Park Plaza Hotel in London, so look out for the details that will be arriving on your doorsteps shortly.

This promises to be a huge event and a superb way to celebrate 20 years in the industry. Come along and catch up with some old and new faces.

We have also confirmed the panel of funders that will be present at the Alternative Finance Conference in Westminster on the 21st June. Our appearance on the 21st has arisen due to the work that the NACFB has carried out at Westminster and is an NACFB inspired and led event direct to SMEs chaired by Anne Marie Morris MP.

Entitled When “The Bank Says ‘No’ Where Do I Go?” the day will have various SME trade bodies attending, giving the NACFB a great opportunity to promote the help that our brokers can give to SMEs struggling to find funding. The funders present will be:

Aldermore Bank
Shawbrook Bank
Investec Bank
Funding Cirlcle
Deutsche Bank

Days such as these are vital to the Association’s work, and really reinforce the work that we have done to reach out to the UK SME market.

I have also taken part in two meetings this week with BIS about the Business Finance Partnership which is a fund developed by HM Treasury to help businesses find alternative funding sources.

This is not just a one off programme with the NACFB intermediary network, but a sustainable long term plan to get private and institutional money to SMEs.

The reputation that the NACFB has built, along with the industry recognised Code of Practice has helped us to become a main player in the government’s plans for UK SME funding.

So, some excellent news showing that the Association’s work with Westminster and our interaction with SME trade bodies is really paying off.

Enjoy the sunshine, and we will update you again next Friday!
