A star-studded evening for a fantastic cause at the UK Sepsis Trust Ball

We were honoured to be invited to the UK Sepsis Trust Inaugural Ball, held on Friday last week.

Sepsis is the current term for septicaemia, or blood poisoning. The disease kills over 8 million people worldwide each year - more people than AIDs, prostate and breast cancer combined and claims even more lives globally than tobacco. The UK Sepsis Trust works tirelessly to raise public awareness of sepsis, provide support for patients and their relatives, and educate health professionals about the condition, and the event was a star-studded evening that has hopefully gone some way to helping them achieve these aims.

The beautiful Waldorf Hotel in London was the venue, complete with red carpet, string quartet and everyone dressed to the nines. The team from Barcadia love a reason to get our glad rags on (especially one that supports such a fantastic cause) and we were amazed by the obvious passion and drive of the organisers that went towards creating the perfect event to raise awareness.

Dinner and the charity auction were both brilliant and it was great to see plenty of faces from the financial services industry there to support the cause, as well as sepsis survivors, families of those who lost their fight to sepsis, celebrities and doctors, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

We would like to say a huge thank you and congratulations to the organisers of the event, particularly Clare Jupp, for an amazing evening, and we would urge everyone to head over to the UK Sepsis Trust website to learn more.
