Industry awards and interior design

I'm going to be making an effort to blog more regularly this year - call it a late New Year's Resolution, if you like! With that in mind, here's what we've been up to recently...

The Financial Reporter Industry Awards are back for their fifth year, bigger than ever, and so far the response has been (as always) excellent. People seem really enthusiastic about the awards and there's a real sense that because of the way our voting system works and that anybody can win an award if the voters think they deserve it - no panels, no judges - that the awards are being seen as a true mark of the industry's approval.

We decided to have a little competition to encourage firms to promote themselves for the awards and asked them to submit pictures featuring a special 'Vote for Us' sign and tweet them for a chance to win an iPad. Well, the responses were excellent, funny, and impressive! From an entire room of staff holding the signs up to a (very-possibly-photoshopped) picture of one director's unborn child encouraging people to vote, they really showed that people are taking the awards seriously and it's great to see so many entries. If you think your firm deserves to win an award and you want to urge everyone to vote, print, photoshop or otherwise include this sign in your picture and tweet us @F_Reporter, including the hashtag #FRAwards2014.

In other news, you might have noticed we recently moved to a bigger office within our building, to accommodate all the exciting plans we have for this year. Well this weekend, the new Barcadia Media offices underwent a very exciting revamp. Hours of painting and furniture constructing later, we now have an extremely stylish new place to work - check out our picture below!
