Lucas has landed

Hi all and welcome to my new blog!

It's taken a few months but the myintroducer team have finally convinced me to start writing for the site. I'm not sure whether it’s because of my vast in-depth knowledge of our industry, my uncanny sharp wit or just that no one else can find the time.

Over the coming months I will be commenting on our industry and its impact on the economy, how we market our businesses, the technology we use and giving you an insight to the workings of Barcadia Media.

In my next blog I will be looking at the north-south divide and asking the question is it really better to live, work and play in the big smoke? Figures now suggest that for the first time ever the average house price in the north is half the price of a house down south.

We also know that the average salary in London is 33% higher than the average salary in Manchester.

But that’s only half the story…

Does this really look at the quality of life? I am very sceptical on the methods to measure this but the average house price in the Lake District, possibly the most beautiful corner of England, is now £269,000, two and a half times less than the average house price in London.

What about the sounds of the Beatles echoing through the streets of Liverpool? The world famous illuminations in my home town Blackpool and of course my beloved Manchester United.

I will look at all these questions in more detail on my next blog and may even share with you some of the stories from this year’s MBE official after show party which we are sponsoring.

I'd also like to welcome the newest member to the Barcadia family, Dean Wynne, who has been sworn in to manage our consumer marketing business. So if you happen to call the Barcadia offices and talk to Dean then say a friendly hello won't you?

I hope that you will enjoy my new blog and keep me updated with your comments.

Happy reading!
