The new development will enable advisers to meet the FSAs requirement to consider off-platform investments on a client-by-client basis, as outlined in the recent policy statement, PS 11/9.

Head of Marketing Development at Scottish Life, Keith MacPherson, said:

“This is a significant development in the long term savings market and will genuinely help advisers to evidence their recommendations, adequately to the regulator. The ability to compare on and off-platform reduction in yields will certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons.”

The conferences, sponsored by Aviva, Legal & General, LV= and Royal London 360 will feature two concurrent agendas, one aimed at advisers specialising in protection, with the other focussing on pensions and investments.

In addition to the event hosts and sponsors, Holly Mackay of The Platforum will offer an overview of the platform market and Philip Mowbray of Barrie & Hibbert will be presenting on risk profiling and asset allocation.

There will also be representation from the FSA to give their views on the day’s themes, along with a question and answer session with delegates.

Speaking of the forthcoming event and launch of the new version of Synaptic Comparator, Capita Financial Software Managing Director, Adam Byford, commented:

“CFSL is committed to the intermediary market and our annual conference is a great opportunity for us to showcase our latest innovation, in the platform and investment space, as well as detailing our future plans relating to the protection space.

“Furthermore, both events offer great networking opportunities as well as the option to hear from some excellent key note speakers, including the FSA.”

Dates and venues of the conferences are as follows:

London – The Emirates Stadium, 5th October 2011
Manchester – The Etihad Stadium, 13th October 2011

Both events are free to attend and advisers can register here.
