Taking part in the first race of the 2012 season, Tim will be heading to Zandvoort, Holland, in a bid to repeat last year’s success as the most as the most successful driver in the series. The inaugural UK series saw Tim appear on the podium 23 times out of 26 races.

The UK Saker tour will see drivers from around the UK and Europe take on seven rounds in different locations over six months. Following the Holland race, teams will return to the UK to compete on a number of tracks around the country, including Brands Hatch and Rockingham, with the final race returning to the Dutch town of Zandvoort.

The Saker Sportscar Challenge allows drivers the opportunity to compete in powerful endurance cars, with relatively low running costs. While the series allows multiple drivers, Tim will be going it alone, racing for Fluent Motorsport as the sole driver. With 13 years of racing experience and a number of other championship titles under his belt, he is taking this challenge very seriously.

He commented:

“While the Saker series is relatively new to the UK, it is already growing in popularity. It’s a really exciting time to be in racing right now, so I’m looking forward to the start of the season. The pressure is certainly on for me to match my performance from last year, or even improve on it, but I’m ready for the challenge.”

The first race of the UK Saker Sportscar Challenge takes place on Sunday 15th April and the series will be televised on Sky Sports and Motors TV.
