The new theatres will provide a range of specific seminar sessions put together by leading advisory businesses and trade bodies. They include the MAB Business Skills Theatre; the Specialist Lending Theatre put together by the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries/Association of Finance Brokers; the Retirement Planning Theatre, with involvement from the Equity Release Council and the Personal Finance Society; and the Protection Theatre, put together by Roger Edwards.

FSE London will be held once again at Old Billingsgate, in the heart of the City of London, on the 24th and 25th September. The event has been split into specific zones in order to ensure delegates can easily navigate themselves around the site and they can access those exhibitors and seminar sessions of most interest to them.

The new theatres have been introduced in order to cover off some of the most important sectors and topics in the financial services market. The MAB Theatre will have sessions from a range of speakers including David Bedlow and Peter Brodnicki of MAB who will look at the key skills needed to be a business success, while key-note speaker, Jamil Qureshi, will analyse the mindset and attitude needed for high performance.

The Specialist Lending Theatre will include a panel debate on the impact of second-charge lending with participants from Brightstar, Freedom Finance, John Charol, Precise and Shawbrook. There will also be a buy-to-let masterclass session and a specialist lending overview covering off bridging loans, secured loans and micro mortgages.

Delegates heading to the Retirement Planning Theatre will find a number of interactive and panel sessions covering off topics such as the changing face of retirement; retirement income – where now?; equity release – dispelling the myths; and long-term care – why you should care. There will be presentations and insight from representatives of Aviva, the Equity Release Council, Key Retirement Solutions, Partnership, the PFS, Prudential, and Saga.

Finally, the Protection Theatre has a formidable line-up of speakers covering topics such as: defining the future of the protection market from the lessons of the past; has critical illness become too complex and how can we make it work for clients?; does future protection growth depend on the ‘social financial adviser’?; and 10 proven sales, advice and marketing ideas guaranteed to increase protection business. Speakers from Bright Grey, CIExpert, Panacea Adviser, Pru Protect, Scottish Widows, and Social Advisers, will be taking part.

As usual, FSE London will also be housing the AMI/IMLA seminar theatre covering off all issues relating to residential lending – more details will follow on the sessions taking place.

The exhibition continues to receive strong support from across the financial services industry and exhibitors already confirmed for FSE London 2014 include: Barclays/Woolwich, Lloyds Banking Group, Nationwide Building Society/The Mortgage Works, Santander, Simplybiz, and PMS to name a few. The Financial Conduct Authority  will also be exhibiting.

John Malone, Chairman of Front Events, commented:

“We are not a business to stand still and it has been absolutely evident to us that as the financial services industry changes, so should our exhibitions. This is why we have introduced these four brand new seminar theatres at FSE London in order to reflect the changing nature of the market and to ensure we can offer interesting and relevant content to all our adviser delegates. These presentations are very far from provider product sales pitches and our aim is to outline the key market opportunities that are available and to provide advisers with the information and tools they need to either become active in these areas or to bolster their existing proposition.

“For the first time, in our MAB Theatre, delegates will be shown how they can fine tune their advice and business skills and will be given an insight into how high performance individuals operate. There will be overviews of growing product sectors such as buy-to-let, bridging, equity release, and second-charge loans. Plus we want to ensure delegates are acutely aware of the seismic changes taking place in the retirement space and how they, and their clients, can benefit. Finally, our Protection Theatre will show the opportunities available within this market and the importance of an active presence here.

“These new theatres and presentations, spread over the two days of the exhibition, provide a complete overview for advisers looking for new markets and seeking a competitive edge. It promises to be a packed show for all concerned and we are certain that all delegates will leave with plenty of information to ensure their businesses go from strength to strength.”
