Insolvency Practitioners Association announces new president

Edward Bible is now the IPA President. He is both a solicitor and a licensed insolvency practitioner and is recognized as “Leader in Field, Restructuring/Insolvency” by Chambers UK

Ed advises insolvency practitioners, banks and other clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters and has particular expertise in dealing with technical problems in administrations, liquidations and bankruptcy.

Ed will be supported in his role by the new Vice President Charles Turner who is a partner in FRP Advisory and head of the personal insolvency and advisory division. He also has extensive experience of corporate insolvencies, including acting as joint liquidator to one of the Enron group of companies and recently dealing with the affairs of a construction company prosecuted for Corporate Manslaughter. Charles chairs the IPA’s Personal Insolvency Committee.

Mark Fry has been appointed as Deputy Vice-President. He is national head of Begbies Traynor Group’s restructuring and insolvency division and has practised in the insolvency and restructuring sector for more than 20 years. His expertise in handling high profile cases such as Alphasteel, Southampton Football Club and Silverjet Airways has further enhanced his reputation as one of the leading practitioners in his field.

Edward Bible, the new President of the IPA, commented:

“I am delighted to become President of the Insolvency Practitioners Association. The next year promises to be a busy one in terms of the issues facing the insolvency profession. My aim during the coming twelve months is to help the IPA to maintain and enhance standards, control risk and communicate effectively with creditors and the public in order to increase public confidence in the insolvency profession”.
