Lenders kick off new year with key appointments: a round-up of hires

Shawbrook, Aldermore, Kent Reliance and Uinsure have all bolstered their sales teams this week in a bid to increase support for intermediaries.

Shawbrook Bank has expanded its Residential Mortgages team within the Property Finance division, appointing Sue Wheatstone and Bethany Watson as Business Development Executives.
 
Wheatstone joins after spending over a decade in the City, initially as a Private Bank Manager with NatWest Private Banking before moving to Coutts for two years. Watson has previous experience in an IFA environment as a mortgage adviser and placement specialist.

Aldermore has hired a new field-based residential Relationship Manager and a Business Development Manager for the South West and South Wales.

Jamie Cullen, Aldermore’s new residential Relationship Manager, has 12 years' experience in financial services with NatWest and TSB, where he worked as a Bank Manager and Area Manager for Mortgages. More recently, Jamie was a Business Development Manager for TSB.

Tom Goldie has been appointed Business Development Manager for the South West and South Wales. Tom originally joined Aldermore is 2014, working across both residential and buy-to-let mortgages before joining the bridging finance team.

Roger Evans, Aldermore’s Head of Intermediary Distribution, Mortgages, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Jamie and Tom to Aldermore’s residential mortgages team. Their previous experience on both sides of the banking counter will be invaluable to our work as a specialist lender, and they will make great additions to the residential team.

"Now is an exciting time to be joining, with Wales seeing a 10% rise in homebuyers in Q3 2016, and the South-West has been awarded the largest share of a fund raised through extra stamp duty on second homes to help first-time buyers in England.”

Kent Reliance, part of OneSavings Bank, has promoted Steve Seal to Head of Sales. Steve boasts more than twenty years’ experience in the mortgage industry, including time at Chelsea Building Society, Barclays and Halifax and played a key part in launching Virgin Money’s intermediary proposition.

Steve’s first action in his new role has been to recruit former Metro Bank BDM Dominic Sheahan to Kent Reliance as Senior Business Development Manager for the South West region.

Adrian Moloney, Sales Director at OneSavings Bank, said: “I’m delighted that Steve has agreed to take on this challenging new role for 2017. His experience and expertise provided our specialist mortgage partners with invaluable support last year and his new position will further enhance our future commitment to the intermediary channel to ensure our proposition is seamless across our UK network.”

GI provider Uinsure has announced the promotion of two key team members. Mark Hutchings, previously National Account Manager has been named Head of Sales and Distribution whilst Craig Kedian will become Team Leader - Telephone Account Management.

Jason Berry, director of sales at Uinsure, commented: “Both Mark and Craig have worked tirelessly to ensure Uinsure maintains its position as the industry’s leading GI provider and these promotions are thoroughly deserved.”
