Mortgage Advice Bureau CEO, Peter Brodnicki, initially signed up to take part in the challenge, alongside his PA, Rachel Noon, and e-Commerce director, Donna Brenchley.

However, due to a training-induced injury, Peter was forced to pull out and was replaced with IT Support, Matt Booth and MAB director, Peter Birch.

This is the biggest fundraising event for Alex’s Wish, a charity created in aid of the son of ex-MAB marketing director, Emma Hallam. The charity has already raised in excess of £120k since launching in late 2012, with the London to Paris bike ride raising an expected further £25,000.

Taking place from 25-27th July, the riders will embark on the challenge that connects two of the world’s most chic capital cities, and will lead the riders 277 miles, from the centre of London and across the English Channel to arrive in Calais. They will then finish off just a few hours before the final leg of the Tour de France arrives on the Champs Elysees.

The team are hoping to raise £10,000, if not more, of the total over the coming weeks.

Peter Brodnicki says:

“We have decided to take on this challenge for Alex’s Wish because we feel incredibly passionate about the cause. Alex is a super little boy who deserves live without this horrendous muscle-wasting disease and we need to find better treatments and a cure fast.”

“Whilst this is a huge challenge for the riders, the suffering we will endure is nothing to that of Alex. Today, he is an active young boy who enjoys playing football, but without treatments, that joy will be short-lived.

“Alex’s disability means he will never have the opportunity to do something like this so we are all using our own pedal-power for all those children who have none.”
