"The Financial Services Cup was once again an absolutely fantastic day, mixing some impressive skills with a healthy dose of competition and all for a fantastic cause."

The one-day football tournament, sponsored by Positive Lending, saw teams from firms including SortRefer, Mint Bridging, Uinsure and PMS battle for the winning spot.

The final saw Skipton Building Society and The Buy to Let Business face off, but it was Skipton who clinched the cup for the second year running, winning on penalties after a 3-3 draw.

The FS Cup was launched by Front Events, the events company responsible for the Financial Services Expo shows, with all money raised going to children’s charity, Well Child.

James Prosser, Director of Front Events, commented: “The Financial Services Cup was once again an absolutely fantastic day, mixing some impressive skills with a healthy dose of competition and all for a fantastic cause.

"The industry raised a phenominal amount of money for WellChild and it was great to see such a great turn out - I'd like to thank everyone who competed, as well as our sponsors and everyone who donated. It's a great way to bring people from across the industry closer together for a fun-filled day out.

"Congratulations too to worthy winners Skipton Building Society, who will no doubt encourage an even bigger turn out next year from teams determined to finally knock them off the top spot and lift that trophy!"

Chris Fairfax, Managing Director at Positive Lending, added: "The FS Cup is a date in the diary our team really look forward to.

"Front Events do a fantastic job in organising a day where our industry comes together for friendly competition and to raise money for a very worthwhile cause."
