DSW delivered over 7000 training days in 2010 to firms across the financial service sector including banks, IFA’s, Mortgage Brokers and debt advice firms.

Their DSW Financial Services Academy was also launched in 2010 with one of the main offerings being The Debt School. The Debt School provides training and compliance support to firms and individuals involved in the debt advice sector.

The DSW ‘Core Skills’ workshop has been redesigned to include the key elements of The Debt Advisor’s three training requirements: being a compliant introducer, the rescue culture for individuals, and diagnostics training for non lending solutions.

The OFT regulatory guidelines, training on how to apply for a Consumer Credit Licence and understanding the Credit Competence Plan is also included in the comprehensive workshop.

Bev Budsworth MD at The Debt Advisor comments:

‘Since the launch of our affiliate scheme in 2008, The Debt Advisor have been educating financial intermediaries on the diagnostics and the solutions available to indebted individuals and businesses.

"Our free training days will always continue but recently, we have come across many intermediaries who need more fully comprehensive training ranging from the Consumer Credit License application right through to the Certificate in Debt Resolution which is offered by the Debt Resolution Forum.

"The DRF is an excellent trade organisation for all debt intermediaries and DSW are also a chosen training partner to them.’

"The DSW Academy has an excellent reputation for the provision of academically robust training, confirmed by sound evidence of delegate learning and a business application process which ensures learning is turned into business benefit and we are pleased to be offering their services to our affiliates."
