"Advanced payments can give customers greater control over the scheduling of their project, better cash flow management and opportunities to negotiate prices with their suppliers."

Buckinghamshire Building Society has launched a range of self build mortgages with options for advanced payments where funds are released ahead of the build stages.

Two-year discounted products are available from 4.99% up to 80% LTV with a £999 product fee, while Advanced Plus rates start from 5.09% with the option to release funds up to 85% Loan to Cost.

Buckinghamshire has confirmed that it will pay a proc fee of 0.80%.

Tim Vigeon, head of lending at Buckinghamshire Building Society, said: “We expect this latest addition to our self build proposition to be popular with customers as advanced payments can give customers greater control over the scheduling of their project, better cash flow management and opportunities to negotiate prices with their suppliers.

"We are offering two advanced payments products; the overall LTV is 80% but with our Advanced Plus, during the build stages we can release funds up to 85% Loan to Cost."
