Platform launches lowest ever two-year fix

Platform, the intermediary mortgage lending subsidiary of The Co-operative Bank, has launched its lowest ever two-year fixed rate mortgage at 1.64%.

The product is available up to 60% LTV with £250 cashback and comes with a free standard valuation.

The lender has cut other 60% LTV mortgages by up to 0.4%. Three and five-year fixed rates now start from 2.19% and 2.59% (reduced from 2.59% and 2.94% respectively).

For borrowers with smaller deposits, Platform has introduced two, three and five-year fixed rates at 90%, starting from 3.49%, 4.14% and 4.39% (reduced from 3.79%, 4.54% and 4.74% respectively).

Co-operative Bank's head of mortgages Stuart Beattie said:
