In Q1 of 2013/14, an estimated 2,149 homes were sold under the scheme, with 443 sold in Q1 of last year - despite this, however, there were actually 300 fewer sales in Q1 than in the final quarter of last year.
Almost a fifth of these sales (18%) were accounted for by local authorities in London.
Right to Buy sells over 2,000 homes in Q1
According to the latest details released by DCLG, the number of homes bought under the Right to Buy scheme was almost five times as many as in the same quarter last year.
