Two awards for Countrywide at British Mortgage Awards

Countrywide were the winners of two prestigious awards at the 2011 British Mortgage Awards.

Held on 28th June at London Hilton Park Lane, the annual awards, now in its sixth year, celebrate and recognise individuals for their achievements and ongoing efforts to deliver industry excellence.

Industry peers and clients voted Countrywide Chief Surveyor Chris Shaw, Best Surveyor in the Business Leaders award category.

The judging panel were impressed by Chris’s extensive industry knowledge, experience and commended him on his personable leadership, having brought the business through one of its toughest period, whilst continuing to deliver high standards of service and win new business contracts during these challenging times.

Commenting on his award win, Chris said:

“Whilst clearly delighted and flattered that my individual contribution found favour with the judging panel, this was very much an award for the whole team at Countywide Surveying Services.

"Up and down the country, both at individual surveyor level, regional offices and central customer services departments, we strive to consistently provide an excellent service and professional advice of the highest quality to our clients and I am proud that this service has been recognised.”

Chris has been instrumental in developing Countrywide Surveyors since its creation in 1988, growing the business from 70 surveyors to become one of the UK’s largest residential surveying businesses, with more than 350 Chartered Surveyors.

Commenting on Chris’ award win, Paul Creffield, Countrywide’s Operations Director, said:

"Winning this award is a reflection of the ongoing commitment Chris has portrayed and his determination to work and support the team by moving and growing the business forward through one of the industry’s most difficult and challenging periods.”

Carrie Cotter, Mortgage Consultant in Bairstow Eves Basildon branch was voted Young Achiever Broker of the Year.

Having entered the financial services industry less than three years ago at the age of 20, Carrie has become one of Countrywide’s leading consultants. Entering the mortgage industry with no experience of financial services, only retail experience; working as a McDonalds branch manager.

Carrie joined Countrywide and within three years has excelled in the training program, completing her CeMap qualifications within 18 months.  

Commenting on her award win, Carrie said:

“I am absolutely delighted to win this award. Overall, my aim is to provide the very best advice and service to my clients.

"The training I have received at Countrywide and the support and guidance of my peers have put me in good stead to do this and progress in my career at Countrywide. This award is the icing on the cake on what has been an excellent three years for me.”

Her outstanding performance in 2010 saw Carrie win top mortgage consultant in her division.

More than 500 guests attended the annual awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the industry's highest achievers and most influential business leaders.
