Steve, who is also local MP for Thornbury and Yate, was appointed Minister of State for Pensions in May 2010 following the new Coalition Government. He has extensive experience as a spokesperson on Work and Pensions and also chaired the Liberal Democrat Manifesto Group in 2006.

Fay Goddard, CEO of the PFS, commented:

"We are delighted to have Steve as a keynote speaker at this year's annual conference. His role as Minister of State for Pensions will provide an interesting and valuable insight into the future of pensions and the challenge increasing longevity poses.

"With our report out this week estimating the UK retirement savings deficit at £9 trillion, the importance of retirement planning cannot be underestimated and is an area where many consumers crucially need the right advice and guidance."

The PFS annual conference will be held on the 10th and 11th of November 2011 at Birmingham's ICC. See more information on attending the conference and to enjoy our early bird rate here.
