"Women are continuing to thrive and excel in their careers and this is something that we should be highlighting and truly celebrating."

Applications are now open for the 2024 Financial Reporter Women's Recognition Awards.

The awards programme, now in its seventh year, aims to support the growing momentum for a more diverse and equal financial services community, recognising achievement in particular fields such as mortgages and specialist lending, alongside adviser-focused categories.

The WRAs also reward people and businesses in the industry who have made notable strides towards gender equality, either through raising awareness or by implementing specific changes within their workplace.

Alongside the existing award categories, three new categories have launched this year - Mortgage administrator of the year, DEI mental health champion, and Entrepreneur of the year.

You can nominate an individual or firm at frwra.co.uk and nominees will then be invited to submit a supporting application.

Nominations close on the 21st of June and our expert panel of judges will then review all applications before the finalists are announced on the 18th of July.

The Winners’ Party will then take place at the Roundhouse in London on the 22nd of October.

Rozi Jones, editor of Financial Reporter, said: "To have reached the seventh year of the Women's Recognition Awards and see it grow each time is inspiring.

"Our industry has continued its journey towards gender equality since we first launched the Women's Recognition Awards, but with the FCA recently warning that the industry is in danger of “going backwards” on gender equality, the importance of Awards programmes like this has never been clearer.

"Despite the hurdles we've all faced during the last few years, women are continuing to thrive and excel in their careers and this is something that we should be highlighting and truly celebrating.

"For 2024, we're hoping to reach an even wider group of women and businesses, supported by our new award categories. Last year's Awards once again saw a record number of entries and we'd like to build on this momentum once again. We want to encourage industry leaders of all genders to encourage the women in their firms to apply and to nominate those employees who go above and beyond to make our industry representative of the wider population."
