Rob joins seven of the UK’s leading packagers at the helm of the bridging industry’s only whole-of-market trade body.

He said:

“With Brightstar now well into its second year of trading, and having established itself in the market, I feel that it is an excellent time to join the AOBP.  I very much look forward to contributing to the continued achievements of the organisation and am proud to be a part of a trade body which is dedicated to the ongoing success of the bridging sector.”

Brightstar is an intermediary-focussed provider of bespoke finance for secured loans, bridging finance, commercial and specialist 1st charge funding.

Rob was recently titled Mortgage Personality of the Year 2012 at the Mortgage Strategy Awards in February.

Existing Executive Committee member and Associate Director of SPF Private Clients, Andre Bartlett, commented:

“Rob is an excellent addition to the Committee.  He brings years of experience to the table and substantially increases the average height of the panel!”

The Executive Committee remains at a total of 11 members, including eight packagers, as the news of Brightstar’s appointment comes at a time when former Executive member First 4 Bridging has decided to step down to concentrate more fully on commercial matters.

Speaking on behalf of the distributor, Myles Williams, director of First 4 Bridging, said:

“Our time as an Executive member of the AOBP has been well-spent and we will continue to watch with great interest as the Association grows yet further.

“Due to the restructuring of our existing business and no longer having a London director, we find ourselves unable to put the care and attention into the AOBP that we have done in the past and have therefore moved aside to allow someone else to do so.
“We wish Rob and the existing members all the best and look forward to seeing what the AOBP will do for bridging next.”
