Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) has announced a number of changes in its executive team.
John Woods has been appointed group chief marketing officer. He brings extensive experience in building, transforming, and scaling businesses across financial services and fintech.
He previously held senior roles at Barclays and CMC Markets, where he led the company's digital transformation ahead of its FTSE 250 IPO, before going on to lead Samsung's European digital operations, support Bain Capital's separation, and launch Zellis, now the UK's largest payroll and HR technology provider. Prior to joining MAB, he was a founding partner in launching Zenus Bank through its early growth and Series A funding.
John's appointment follows two other recent additions to MAB’s leadership team. Jo Stent joined as group chief financial officer designate, working alongside current CFO Emilie McCarthy ahead of her departure to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities. Jo is a highly experienced listed company CFO with more than 25 years' experience leading finance functions.
Renee Hunt is also now in post as group chief data and information officer, leading technology, product, data, AI, customer experience, and change. She’s responsible for helping the business use technology, data, and AI to create better customer and adviser outcomes.
Renee brings more than 30 years' experience across financial services, media, and telecoms. Her career history includes management roles at Deloitte, various leadership positions at Sky, where she formed a crucial part of the technical leadership team behind the launch of the Sky Q box, and led the digital teams behind Sky News and Sky Sports. Prior to joining MAB, she was chief technology officer at Compare the Market, and continues to hold non-executive director positions at Nandos and IOD.
Peter Brodnicki, CEO of Mortgage Advice Bureau, said: "These appointments reflect the continued investment we're making in the leadership, capability, and focus needed to deliver our strategic ambitions. Additional senior appointments have also been in areas such as product, data, project management, and customer acquisition. The business can only be as ambitious and successful as the team responsible for delivery.
“We’re in a unique period which will see the intermediary sector transform, and I want to see MAB be at the forefront of that transformation. The new experience and ambition we’re bringing into MAB, combined with the incredible talent and work ethic we already have, will together deliver our strongest performance yet and at the pace required.”
