Bridging lender Morpheus has appointed Stuart Dunk and Sonny Gohel to its senior team.
Sonny joins Morpheus as head of operations with more than a decade of experience in the specialist lending space, gained across several firms in the bridging and development sector. With a law degree and subsequent background in the legal profession, he then moved into specialist lending with spells at Aspen Bridging and most recently KHK Capital, where he was responsible for managing a team of underwriters and their end-to-end portfolio management functions across development and bridging loans.
Stuart joined the lender earlier this year as finance and treasury director, having spent six years at US-based private equity backed and technology data company Stats Perform as group financial controller. A qualified accountant at Deloitte, his experience spans banking, finance, treasury and investor relationships.
Sonny commented: “I was immediately drawn to their technology and innovation-first approach to the sector, which is typically unheard of. Also working alongside such a credible and experienced team and board, as well as being involved from such an early stage of its growth journey meant it was an opportunity I could not miss.”

Matt Mawdesley launched Morpheus in May last year. The specialist and digital-only bridging lender offers funding solutions for UK commercial, corporate, and property professionals.
Previously head of strategy at Together and AO.com, Matt has held senior roles across the mortgage, technology, private equity, and banking sectors.
