TAB has appointed Gary Melville as business development manager (BDM) for Wales, adding to its regional broker team as it expands across the UK. He will work with brokers on bridging finance and commercial mortgage cases.
Melville joined TAB in December 2025 as an internal BDM, helping brokers structure specialist cases and find commercial mortgage and bridging finance options. He arrived after eight months as an internal BDM at Masthaven Finance. Before that, he spent more than four years at West One Loans, starting in broker support and moving into sales, where he worked directly with mortgage brokers.
In his new role, Melville will cover bridging finance and commercial mortgages across Wales for semi-commercial, commercial and residential property deals.
Gary Melville, business development manager for Wales at TAB (pictured), said: “I’ve spent almost a year at TAB working with brokers on the cases that don’t always fit neatly into a standard lending box.
"Moving into a BDM role gives me the opportunity to take that experience out to brokers and packagers across Wales and the Swansea, Cardiff, Newport and Shrewsbury areas in particular. I want brokers to know they can pick up the phone, talk through a case and get a clear answer quickly. We thrive on delivering commercial mortgages at bridging speed because we know time kills deals.
"If I can give a broker a yes, I want to do it quickly. If I can’t help, they need to know that quickly, too. It’s always my aim to give them the certainty to decide what to do next.”
Michael Grant, head of sales at TAB, noted: “Gary has built a strong understanding of how we approach specialist lending since joining TAB. He knows how to work through the detail of a case and, just as importantly, understands what brokers need from a lender when a deal is moving quickly.
"Wales is an important market for TAB, and Gary is well placed to build stronger relationships with brokers across the region. He has the lending knowledge, broker experience and commercial approach we want from our BDM team and is a valuable asset in our mission to bring momentum to lending. Think Wales, think Gary!”
