Applications are now open for the 2025 Financial Reporter Women's Recognition Awards, proudly sponsored by L&C Mortgages.

The awards programme, now in its eighth year, aims to support the growing momentum for a more diverse and equal financial services community, recognising achievement in particular fields such as mortgages and specialist lending, alongside adviser-focused categories.

The WRAs also reward people and businesses in the industry who have made notable strides towards gender equality, either through raising awareness or by implementing specific changes within their workplace.

Alongside the existing award categories, three new categories have launched this year - Specialist lending adviser of the year, Woman-led brokerage of the year, and Paraplanner of the year.

You can nominate an individual or firm at frwra.co.uk and nominees will then be invited to submit a supporting application.

Nominations close on the 20th June, after which all nominees will have until 27th June to complete their supporting applications. Our expert panel of judges will then review all applications before the finalists are announced on the 17th July.

The Winners’ Party will then take place at Exhibition White City in London on the 15th of October with a drinks reception, entertainment, three-course meal and an exclusive after party.

On becoming the headline sponsor for #WRA25, L&C Mortgages said: "L&C are proud to be the headline sponsor at the Women’s Recognition Awards for a second year, because we believe in celebrating the incredible contributions women make in our industry. We support the growing momentum towards an industry that truly reflects the diversity of the world it serves - one where women’s achievements are fully recognised, where opportunities are equal, and where diversity isn’t an afterthought but a cornerstone of success."

Rozi Jones, editor of Financial Reporter, commented: "The Women's Recognition Awards has become the most coveted award in the mortgage industry - and one which has real meaning for the people and businesses who win. We want to inspire everyone to be part of the drive to change our industry for the better – it's our collective responsibility.

"Change starts at the top and we want to shine a light on the amazing work that businesses in our industry are doing to support diversity, equality & inclusion in the workplace: in turn, inspiring others to follow suit.

"With categories for a broad spectrum of women and businesses - from individual advisers to the businesses making waves in terms of diversity & inclusion, #WRA25 encourages a range of applicants.

"For 2025, we're hoping to reach an even wider group of women and businesses, supported by our new award categories. Last year's Awards once again saw a record number of entries and we'd like to build on this momentum. We want to encourage industry leaders of all genders to encourage the women in their firms to apply and to nominate those employees who go above and beyond to make our industry representative of the wider population."
