Gen H has announced cuts of 25bps across its 85% and 90% LTV two-year mortgage rates.
The lender also made tweaks across the broader range.
Two-year rates at 70% – 80% LTV are reducing by 6bps.
Elsewhere, 60% LTV two-year rates are increasing by 14bps, three-year rates are up by 10bps, and five-year rates up to 80% LTV have risen by 5bps.
Gen H launched a number of propositions designed to support first-time buyers in 2025. First was New Build Boost, a private sector alternative to Help to Buy designed to support people with small deposits and no access to family financial support. Buyers bring a 5% deposit, take an 80% LTV mortgage with Gen H, and get a 15% interest-free boost to close the gap. The boost is an equity loan that is frozen for five years and interest-free forever. New Build Boost is available on all Persimmon and Charles Church properties across England.
Gen H also launched interest-only and part-and-part mortgages for first-time buyers.
Sara Palmer, sales and distribution director at Gen H, said: “I’m thrilled we’re able to make these changes as we approach the Christmas season. It’s a difficult time to be trying to buy a first home – but aspiring owners shouldn’t give up hope. Lenders like Gen H and experts like the brokers on our panel are here to help. Hopefully, these rate reductions will help deliver some homes for the holidays!”
