Landmark Information Group has launched 'Sales Pack Ready', a new search bundle designed to help the property industry prepare for the government's home buying and selling reform by making trusted property information available earlier in the transaction process.

By bringing together key searches at the point of listing, the bundle helps to identify issues sooner, reduce delays and create a more efficient, connected and data-enabled process.

Sales Pack Ready combines a personal local search, a drainage and water search and Homecheck Residential, with condition reports also available through Landmark with national coverage. This gives property professionals access to both the search and property condition information identified in the government’s reform proposals.

Landmark’s data shows that the average time from instruction to completion has increased to 123 days, up 18% since 2019 and 64% since 2007. Key property information often arrives too late, leading to additional enquiries, uncertainty and avoidable delays.

Through the Project 28 Charter, organisations from across the property industry have come together behind a blueprint for faster, more transparent and more certain transactions. One of its core commitments is making relevant property information available earlier in the transaction process.

That industry-led direction is reinforced by the government’s home buying and selling reform, with both supporting earlier preparation, trusted data and greater transparency.

Access to trusted information at the point of listing increases transparency for buyers and sellers while reducing the likelihood of delays and fall-throughs. Earlier access provides conveyancers with upfront insights, mitigating further additional enquiries, helping transactions progress more smoothly. It also gives mortgage brokers and lenders the information needed to make earlier lending decisions, streamline underwriting and reduce risk throughout the transaction.

Simon Brown, CEO at Landmark Information Group, said: “The move towards greater upfront property information, through Project 28 and alongside government reforms, will require every part of the market to adapt how transactions are prepared and how information is shared.

“Sales Pack Ready is the first in a series of solutions we are developing specifically around the Home Buying and Selling reform roadmap. It represents an important step in helping the industry move towards transactions that are better informed, more connected and more certain from the outset.”

“Landmark is committed to giving customers the trusted information, connected technology and practical tools they need to navigate a changing property market, not only preparing them for reform but also helping them deliver faster, more certain transactions today.”
