She was found guilty of fraud and concealing criminal property between May 2007 and June 2009. She was a chartered surveyor, and overvalued properties in return for payments of £900,000 and received two vehicles, a Bentley Continental and a Range Rover Sport, for her dishonest, inflated valuations.
On the 23 November 2010 the Disciplinary Panel of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) suspended her membership. Her husband at the time, a Metropolitan Police officer (central London traffic unit), was found not guilty of concealing criminal property. The couple have since divorced.
Judge Timothy Pontius said that her being convicted was "nothing short of a tragedy".
He added:
"There is no doubt that your fall from grace is a heavy one,"
