Derek has been with Ulster Bank for over 30 years and this is his second time in office as chairman of CML Northern Ireland, having also held the position in 2006.

On taking the chair of CML Northern Ireland, Derek Wilson said:

"I look forward to building upon the good work of my predecessor, Jay Colville, who has ensured that CML Northern Ireland has remained an active voice through a particularly difficult period for the housing market in the province.

"We continue to face far-reaching challenges. While affordability has improved, the fall in house prices, changes in the labour market and continued economic uncertainty have all placed constraints on demand. I will work to ensure that lenders continue to be represented by CML Northern Ireland in discussions with government and other key bodies across the industry."
