Lifetime mortgage lender, Pure Retirement, has restructured its originations team to enhance its proposition for advisers and their clients.

Under the latest developments, Pure’s former underwriting department manager, Gavin Hancock, has assumed the position of head of initial loan originations, bringing 25 years of financial services experience, as well as a long tenure in underwriting.

Gavin has been the architect of Pure Retirement’s 'Underwriting Promise', which provides applications with the same underwriter through to completion to maintain consistency. Additionally, he has worked to develop a phone-first culture between underwriters and advisers, and a proactive approach to finding alternative solutions when needed to ensure cases can proceed. He now looks forward to further enhancing the rest of the originations journey and delivering additional enhancements as appropriate across all key touchpoints.

Beth Lawson takes over as underwriting department manager, bringing 8 years’ experience at Pure and 14 years’ experience in financial services in total.

Gavin Hancock commented: “I’m excited to be leading the next chapter of our originations journey, having already successfully rolled out a range of enhancements and changes to our underwriting processes. We’ve got a team that’s committed to delivering best outcomes for advisers and consumers, as reflected in our Smart Money People and net promotor scoring, and I’m looking forward to leading our originations function and continue to provide market-leading service standards.”
