"The prospect of pensions being subject to IHT is driving more people to seek expert advice and consider options like gifting and life insurance to reduce potential bills, and as such, advisers are facing more questions than ever"

Royal London has announced that it has launched its new inheritance tax hub, a comprehensive, centralised, digital resource designed to support advisers through client conversations, as IHT becomes an increasingly prominent topic in today's evolving market.

Recent changes in the financial landscape have put IHT firmly in the spotlight, sparking widespread conversation and a need for clear, practical guidance. Recent research from Royal London highlights the significant concern surrounding IHT in the UK.

Notably, three in 10 adults believe they will be affected by the planned IHT changes coming into effect from April 2027, underscoring widespread anxiety about the impact of these reforms.

In response, Royal London's IHT hub brings together practical content across both pensions and protection, consolidating essential information into a single, easily accessible location.

The IHT hub features up-to-date expert articles and insights on inheritance tax planning, comprehensive guides covering both pension and protection solutions, practical tools and resources to aid client conversations, and regular updates reflecting policy developments and market changes.

The hub is designed to evolve in line with ongoing policy and regulatory changes, ensuring advisers remain at the forefront of industry developments. Royal London remains dedicated to providing advisers with the tools, knowledge and support they need to navigate the complexities of inheritance tax and to continue delivering value to their clients.

"Inheritance tax has become a contentious issue as a combination of frozen thresholds, soaring asset values, particularly property, and major upcoming reforms has transformed it from a tax on the very wealthy into a levy that affects an increasing number of families," said Clare Moffat, tax expert at Royal London.

"The prospect of pensions being subject to IHT is driving more people to seek expert advice and consider options like gifting and life insurance to reduce potential bills, and as such, advisers are facing more questions than ever. Since last year's Autumn Budget, inheritance tax has been a concern for an increasing number of families, which has driven advice enquiries and a 50% increase in sales of Whole of Life protection policies at Royal London."

"It's clear that there's a real concern among clients about these significant changes and a need for an information hub to support advisers. By making everything advisers need available in one place, we aim to help them strengthen their proposition and deliver even better outcomes for their clients."
