The International Business Awards are the only global business awards programme honouring great performances in business.

Honourees were determined through two rounds of judging by close to 200 professionals worldwide and selected from more than 3,000 entries received from organisations and individuals in more than 40 nations.

Each award, nicknamed the Stevie® for the Greek word “crowned,” will be presented to honourees at a gala event on the 11th October in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Paul Aitken, CEO of borro, said:

“We’re delighted to have earned a Distinguished Honouree medal in the Financial Services category. This is a fantastic achievement for the business. We have created a completely new market over the last couple of years, and are committed to continued growth.

"Our customers range from high net worth individuals to SME owners requiring short term funding to invest in their business. In addition, we continue to innovate, which, combined with our commitment to providing flexible and fast loans, means we will continue to provide the strongest and best customer focused service available.

“With investors such as Octopus Investments on board we can provide cost effective funds to scale up our loan book over the next 3 to 4 years and expand the business internationally; we’re currently exploring the opportunities to launch in the US market.”

Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards, presenters of the IBAs, concluded:

“Entries to The International Business Awards grew by more than 80% this year, and that illustrates the increasing importance of the IBAs worldwide. We congratulate all of the honourees, and we look forward to recognising them for their achievements at our gala event in Abu Dhabi on 11 October.”
