Mortgage brokers will now have direct access to Clydesdale Bank's underwriting team for large loan enquiries.
Brokers can call the team directly with any enquiries for loans of £500,000 or more.
In a note to brokers, the Bank said: "We know that loans over £500k are not always straightforward and sometimes they require a little bit more attention from both you and us.
"Larger loans can be more complex and sometimes you need to speak to an underwriter before you submit a case to confirm that we can help you and your client.
"We love figuring out ways to say ‘yes’ to more of your clients, which is why we’ve improved our large loan line minimum loan size from £750k to £500k."
Underwriters can help in cases where non-standard income is required (such as investment income), for self-employed applicants where there may have been one-off extraordinary costs, and when a higher than standard percentage of variable income is needed.
Brokers can call Clydesdale's underwriting team on 0113 224 1369 between 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
