Bridging and development finance lender, District & County Investments (DCI), has expanded its team with the appointments of Sukhen Jotangia as loan manager and Emily Bell to its sales support team.

Jotangia joins DCI with extensive commercial and real estate finance experience, most recently working as a portfolio manager at Reliance Bank, following eight years at RBS Commercial Banking. In his new role, he will support DCI’s BDMs with underwriting and manage relationships with borrowers throughout the lifecycle of live loans.

Bell joins from specialist lender Breeze Capital, having also previously worked at Hope Capital and Lloyds Banking Group. As part of DCI’s sales support team, she will support BDMs and loan managers across new applications and enquiries.

Michael Clifford, commercial director at District & County Investments, commented: “As we grow, we want to make sure the infrastructure behind our lending grows with us. We have ambitious plans for DCI, but it is important that we do that without losing the personal and flexible approach that has helped build the business.

“Emily has already become an important part of the team since joining in August, adding further specialist lending experience and resource to support new applications and enquiries. Alongside Sukhen’s appointment, we are strengthening the team at different stages of the lending process so we can maintain the service brokers and borrowers expect as volumes increase.”

Sukhen Jotangia added: “Having worked across real estate and commercial finance for a number of years, I have seen how important it is for lenders to understand the transaction in front of them rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Property deals rarely progress entirely as expected, so being able to assess a case pragmatically and work closely with the borrower and broker throughout the loan is extremely important.

“That was a key attraction for me in joining DCI. Its approach is built around quick, human decision-making and close relationships with borrowers and brokers, and I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the team as the business continues to grow.”
