"One of the great things about our industry is how we all pull together to support important causes and this is a great example of just that."

The Ball will take place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on 23rd September 2022 and is being arranged by William Lloyd-Hayward, chief operating officer at The Brightstar Group.

Will says: “This is a personal story, a personal goal and personal effort. Back in 2016 my Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s / Dementia, and his condition has continued to deteriorate since. Whilst he is still a healthy and happy Dad, I have seen first-hand the damage this disease does to a person and their loved ones. I have always cared about wanting to make a difference and play my part personally in raising money for causes which can help change lives.

“So, I want to host my first Autumn Alzheimer’s Charity Ball and am doing so with Laura Calcroft whose own family has seen first-hand what this disease can do. We want a night to raise awareness of this disease, raise vital money for Alzheimer’s Society to support their work, whilst also seeing people enjoy their night and making my Dad proud!”

Around 900,000 people in the UK have dementia, with one in 14 people aged 65 and older being diagnosed with the disease. Someone develops dementia every three minutes in the UK and 42,000 people under the age of 65 have the disease.
