Financial Reporter is delighted to announce the finalists of its 2025 Women's Recognition Awards, proudly sponsored by L&C Mortgages.
The awards programme, now in its eighth year, aims to support the growing momentum for a more diverse and equal financial services community, recognising achievement in particular fields such as mortgages and specialist lending, alongside adviser-focused categories.
The WRAs also reward people and businesses in the industry who have made notable strides towards gender equality, either through raising awareness or by implementing specific changes within their workplace.
Alongside the existing award categories, three new categories have launched this year - 'Specialist lending adviser of the year', 'Woman-led brokerage of the year', and 'Paraplanner of the year'.
Our expert panel of judges has now reviewed all applications and you can click here to see all of this year's finalists.
The Winners’ Party will then take place at Exhibition White City in London on the 15th of October with a drinks reception, entertainment, three-course meal and an exclusive after party.
Rozi Jones, editor of Financial Reporter, commented: "Each year, the Women’s Recognition Awards remind us why championing diversity and equality in financial services is so vital. The incredible talent showcased by this year’s finalists — from mortgage advisers to women-led brokerages — is driving real change across our industry.
"These awards shine a light on the progress being made, but they also highlight how much further we can go. Despite steady progress, women in UK financial services still earn just 78 pence for every £1 men make, and they hold only 36% of senior management roles — a marginal rise from 35% in 2023. These figures show persistent gender pay gaps and leadership imbalances that continue to frustrate our sector.
"That’s why our awards matter so much — they put a spotlight on achievement and aspiration. From the courageous leader pushing the boundaries of ESG finance, to the young analyst harnessing AI for better outcomes, each winner propels change forward.
"A heartfelt congratulations to all recipients — and a challenge to all of us: let’s use their success as momentum for real, structural change in pay, progression, and leadership.
"Congratulations to all our finalists — and thank you for setting an example of what our industry can and should be. We can’t wait to celebrate your achievements at our Winners’ Party this October!”
Mark Harrington, CEO of L&C Mortgages, said: "L&C is proud to be the headline sponsor of the Women’s Recognition Awards again this year and we want to congratulate all the finalists. We believe in celebrating those who cultivate positive change, challenge the status quo and inspire others to achieve their potential.
"These awards continue to shine a vital spotlight on the talent, drive and leadership of women across our industry. All the nominees can be proud of their place on the shortlist and for the impact that they are making on our market. We look forward to an evening of celebration with you all at the awards."
