Montello has explained that the new name reflects the fact that they are pure bridging finance, short term principal lenders. The rebranding also coincides with the launch of a new web presence for Montello.
When Montello launched in the UK almost three years ago, it made use of the ‘private finance’ tag-line as it was using funding lines provided by private investors.
Ian Sutherland, Managing Director at Montello, explains:
"The use of the wording private finance was apt at the time, as it reflected the way in which we were funding our deals – through High Net Worth investors, on a deal-by-deal bespoke basis.
“However, the reality is that Montello are now principal lenders in our own right and it seemed time for us to rebrand accordingly."
Christian Faes, Managing Director at Montello, comments:
“With the successful launch of our Montello Income Fund at the start of last year, the business has evolved, and we now have our own capital to lend. The change in name also confirms our commitment to the ‘short-term’ market. As other lenders move towards becoming ‘medium-term’ lenders, we are committed to serving the needs of bridging finance borrowers.”
