Alice’s journey into the mortgage industry began by chance. Taking a gap year after her A-levels, she joined a small building society as a customer assistant - and never looked back. That early exposure to customer service and problem-solving sparked a passion for financial services and helping people achieve their property goals. A year later, she moved into business development, working as a telephone BDM supporting brokers through complex cases. She found her niche in specialist lending, where creativity and communication come together to help clients who might otherwise struggle to secure finance. Over seven years, Alice has progressed from Business Development Manager to Corporate Account Manager at Shawbrook, where she now oversees key strategic relationships and drives innovation across the business.

Alice’s impact comes from her combination of commercial acumen, empathy, and proactive problem-solving. In her current role, she manages Shawbrook’s largest accounts, reviewing performance, providing strategic guidance, and supporting brokers with complex specialist lending scenarios.
She has built a reputation for challenging the status quo, bringing a thoughtful and constructive approach to process improvements and product development. Working closely with the Head of Lending, she regularly helps shape new initiatives based on broker feedback, including the launch of Portfolio Express, which streamlined buy-to-let portfolio applications and significantly reduced turnaround times.
Another standout achievement was introducing automated valuation models (AVMs) across qualifying buy-to-let products - an idea sparked by direct feedback from brokers and customers which improved efficiency, cut costs, and delivered a smoother experience for landlords and tenants.
Alice’s work has earned recognition from peers and partners alike: she has been named Account Manager of the Year three times running by one of Shawbrook’s largest accounts and helped her team secure Lender of the Year twice. These awards celebrate not only her results but her collaborative leadership and commitment to helping others succeed.
Outside of her day-to-day role, Alice shares thought leadership on key topics like the Renters’ Rights Bill, supporting brokers through change and helping them turn legislative challenges into opportunities.
