After studying Primary Education at university, Jess took an unconventional route into financial services. Starting out in hospitality, she honed her leadership and people skills before joining Mortgage Advice Bureau as an HR apprentice - with no prior corporate or financial experience. From day one, Jess stood out. She played a pivotal role in rolling out a new HR information system, automating key processes and improving data accuracy across the business, which made a tangible difference - freeing up time, improving onboarding, and giving leaders better insights to support their teams. Now a trusted member of the HR function, Jess combines her sharp organisational skills with empathy and emotional intelligence, earning the respect of peers and senior leaders alike.
"She’s not just a rising star—she’s already shining."
In just two years, Jess has gone from apprentice to a key figure driving efficiency and engagement at Mortgage Advice Bureau. She’s designed and implemented automated workflows across recruitment, onboarding, and HR operations - cutting manual admin and improving the new starter experience.
Her creative mindset has also transformed people processes. Jess redesigned the firm’s onboarding and leaver feedback systems, introducing structured walkthroughs for new starters and “farewell chats” for leavers - creating a feedback culture that fuels continuous improvement.
Her contribution hasn’t gone unnoticed: in June 2025, Jess received the Chief Recognition Award, celebrating her outstanding impact and innovation.
